do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

  1. Why do you think it has lasted for so long as a stand alone document?
  2. What do you think is a weak point in the document?
  3. What do you think is a strong point in the document?
  4. Should students be required to learn about the Constitution?
  5. What is going on in today's government that makes knowledge of the Constitution so critical?

Political Issues

Currently, we have two major political parties that control most of the political action in our government, Republican and Democratic parties.  A majority of the American population tend to side with one of these parties when it comes to political issues.  Using research from the Internet, you will complete the following chart by typing one-sentence descriptions of each party’s stance on the listed issues.
Democratic/Liberal
Issue
Republican/Conservative
Gun control -We should require a photo license I.D., a background check, and a gun safety test to buy a new handgun. We support more federal gun prosecutors and giving states and communities another 10,000 prosecutors to fight gun crime.
Abortion-Our goal is to make abortion rarer, not more dangerous. We support contraceptive research, family planning, comprehensive family life education, and policies that support healthy childbearing.
Gay Marriage-The Democratic platform supports the movement to get equal treatment under the law for same-sex couples.
Taxes- The tax policy for the Democratic Party calls for raising certain taxes to provide money for government spending, which in turn generates business. The party platform asserts that government spending provides "good jobs and will help the economy today."
Health Care- In March 2010, President Obama fulfilled a promise that Democrats have pursued for nearly a century: making health care available to all Americans.
Death Penalty- Opponents of the death penalty form a much higher fraction of the Democratic Party when compared to the GOP.
Going Green- democrats are going green it’s more safer for the environments’ ozone layer and the globe overall
Role of Government – is to have the lower class and the middle class be able to make a living by taking more taxes from those who make more money.
War-Democratic thoughts of war are that we have begun the process of bringing our troops home from Afghanistan, including removing 33,000 by September 2012. And, with the support of our allies, the President has outlined a plan to end the war in Afghanistan in 2014.
Role of US in the World- We stand in a missed up economy but if we could get tax cuts for the lower income people and tax
increase of those who have money we will all survive.
Immigration-Throughout the course of their campaigns, President Barack Obama and presidential candidate Mitt Romney promised comprehensive immigration reform and reanalyzing U.S.-Mexico border security. Both candidates view the issue differently, specifically about what comprises comprehensive immigration reform, including the path to citizenship and dealing with the children of undocumented immigrants, such as the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, which was recently passed. The DACA program provides a temporary relief for one of our pressing immigration issues, helping young undocumented immigrants who came to the U.S. as children and finished high school or are currently enrolled in college.

Gun control-We oppose federal licensing of law-abiding gun owners and national gun registration as a violation of the Second Amendment and an invasion of privacy of honest citizens. Through programs like Project Exile, we will hold criminals individually accountable for their actions by strong enforcement of federal and state firearm laws, especially when guns are used in violent or drug-related crimes.
Abortion-We oppose abortion, but our pro-life agenda does not include punitive action against women who have an abortion. We salute those who provide alternatives to abortion and offer adoption services.
Gay Marriage- However, there are some Republicans who are pro-gay-marriage. But sadly, the general Republican Party is against gay marriage.
Taxes-
Tax relief is the Republican route to growing the economy. A Republican government would reduce taxes for businesses to allow businesses to grow and thus hire more.
Health
Care- Despite unanimous opposition from Republicans, Democrats were finally able to pass comprehensive health reform into law.                         Death Penalty-The Republican Party support a federal Constitutional amendment for victims of violent crime that would provide specific rights for victims protected under the U.S. Constitution. We support courts having the option to impose the death penalty in capital murder cases.
Going Green-Republicans are going to go green it save’s money and is efficient for the environment.
Role of Government – is to have no lower class and no middle class and up tax rates for those who barely make a living and lower taxes on the higher class.
War- republican thoughts of war is to prevent Iran from building and possessing nuclear weapons.
Role of Us in the World- Republicans want all their hard earned money and a lot of them don’t think of lower income people or how others live besides their selves.
The three branches of U.S. government is legislative branch , judicial branch, executive branch. The legislative branch makes laws, this branch also has the power to call for war. The executive branch is
the power of the Executive Branch is vested in the President of the United States, who also acts as head of state and Commander-in-Chief of the armed forces. The President is responsible for implementing and enforcing the laws written by Congress and, to that end, appoints the heads of the federal agencies, including the Cabinet. The Vice President is also part of the Executive Branch, ready to assume the Presidency should the need arise. The legislative branch  consists of the House of Representatives and the Senate, which together form the United States Congress. The Constitution grants Congress the sole authority to enact legislation and declare war, the right to confirm or reject many Presidential appointments, and substantial investigative powers. Judicial branch is consists of the House of Representatives and the Senate, which together form the United States Congress. Medal of Honor

For 15 months, American soldiers homes was the Koren gal valley one soldier said that the only place he felt safe was his dreams. To the Americans this valley was know as the valley of death. this war affected me as well as the soldiers because our soldiers where threatened and so were their lives. the terror of the current war was most of the soldiers got em bushed and bullets where hitting them one by one. President Obama can get help from the troops when he needs them but, also knows when a enough is enough. I am pleased with President Obama and his choices because we haven't lost a war still with him in office. If we become more isolated throughout the Valley's, Jungle's, and Rain Forrest. Its about our spacing in the way we set up our enemies with in traps ahead of time. no we can not secure the all the nation's in the world, we can help to our fullest ability but the U.S. is already a big enough job for us all to try and handle. These man that survived and help theirs fellow soldiers are made of honor and got gold medals by their actions.

government

The purpose of the government is to set rules and responsibilities for people / citizens  with no responsibilities. the purpose we serve for the government is an responsibility every one has to take care of if not the government will throw you where the sun don't shine .If America had no government everyone would be a little wealthier from no taxes and doing what we want getting over on the rules we have. The government is to control the country and at any time they can say what do with it... and we have no choice end because we have no control besides picking what they give us a president to control our country and us.
